Synopsis: The world is on fire, ravaging us and our humanity with genocide and racist riots.  Hostile environments include unsafe housing and colonial occupations of indigenous lands. We stand by, filled with a grief that is all-encompassing, at times unable to breathe. In this piece, Farha offers you an intimate moment: a conversation and a cleansing ritual. Whilst washing your hands, within her offering, you can choose to share what is sitting heavy with you. This performance seeks to make space in our communities for healing and repair.   There is the need for collective recognition and reckoning to deal with the fallout of a violent world.  These include grief, guilt, shame and trauma. It is through confronting our own complicity, that we can find hope in our humanity. Farha will perform her cleansing ritual for each audience member who will be given a private slot. Each individual performance lasts about 20 minutes.

About the Company: Farha is a creative thinker, community organiser, social justice activist and storyteller. She breathes life into wild dreams! She loves to slow-travel and stay connected to the land. She explores different ways of (un)learning, and (re)centering ancestral knowledge. She grew up in both 1990s Birmingham and 1960s Kashmir and she has mastered the art of time travel.

Ismaeal is an emerging musician and singer who plays piano, guitar and bass. He is passionate about the stories that can be told through music. They permeate the soul through melody.
