Asha is a performance of dance, movement and spoken word. It tells the stories of ten performers aged between 13-16 years. It conveys what 'Hope' means to them in various contexts of feminism. Showmi Das directs and co-choreographs each student. She helps bring to life their freedom of expressions, in relation to their personal experiences and thoughts. Contemporary dance gives the talented participants a skill to develop and showcase. They can also personalise their own messages through movement and words. The performance is aimed at family audiences. The performance will be engaging, empowering, and inspiring, brought by the future generation. This work will premier in November 2024 for A Season of Bangla Drama.
