“Harmonium Melodies” looks at how the love of music spans generations. It explores how people express themselves with music. The story follows a young and traditionally trained musician who yearns to be a pop star. It follows the hurdles faced in pursuit of such goals. It maps the journey through the way they engage with music.
The play looks at how people across generations support, and sometimes judge, decisions made by those pursuing music. The story uses music as a backdrop to reveal the importance of valuing the community.
About the Artist: Dhanush is emerging young theatre practitioner. His play, 'The Startup', was described as a 'standout' piece in the ACT II Festival. He has performed in Blue Elephant Theatre's inter-generational community play. He trained at Tara Theatre's Young Company and is part of WAC Actors Young Company.
