Deputy Mayor role profile
This is an add on role in addition to the Cabinet Member role.
Summary of responsibilities
- To exercise the powers of the Mayor when they are unable to act at any time.
- To undertake the role of Mayor should the Mayor resign from office or otherwise vacate their post.
- To support the Mayor to provide political leadership and strategic direction and ensure the council delivers high-quality, efficient, value for money services.
- To help the Mayor support and develop all Cabinet Members.
