This vibrant panel of Somali journalists and creatives will discuss the role they can play in mainstream media's balanced reporting of the Somali population in the UK.

Zahra Warsame is a British media personality. She works as a broadcast and digital journalist for Channel 4 News, covering a variety of national and international events.

Khadra Salaad is a BBC journalist and communications specialist. She has vast experience in print, radio, and television.

Anisa Omar is a TRT World journalist, producer, and presenter. Omar has also worked as a communications professional for Amnesty International and Plan Global.

Ikran Dahir is a BuzzFeed News online culture correspondent located in London. She is a journalist and co-founder of S.Y.T. (Strong Young Thing). She worked as a reporter and producer for London360 and Media Trust.


We will conclude the session with live music and poetry.
