Comedy Night with Guribaraawi
A night of laughs is provided by two popular comedians with quite different styles and cultural references. This promises to be a fantastic night out for Somali and English speakers alike.
Ismail Abdilahi Ali (Guri Barwaaqo) is a well-known Somaliland comedian who lives in Burco. He is a first-generation stand-up comedian, following the death of a large Somali comedy tradition in the Somali region. His humorous acts are well-known, and his YouTube videos has millions of views.
Somali-born comedian, Simba Rabshais a winner of the notorious Top Secret Gong Show Nov 2022 and Big Belly’s Ding Dong Show September 2022 as well as a finalist in the Max Turner Prize 2022. Simba’s quick fire delivery and self-reflective material has made him one to watch on the comedy circuit. The evening will be closed with Nimco Degan.
