I want to provide feedback
How did we do?
We always aim to improve our adult care and support services. To achieve this, your feedback is vital. Completing our online service feedback form is one of the quickest ways to do this.
Complete the adult care and support feedback form
You can ask your social care practitioner for a hard copy too.
We know that sometimes things can go wrong. If they do, we want to hear from you so that we can put them right and learn from what has happened.
Comments, compliments or complaints
If you are not happy with a service we provide, in the first instance, please speak to one of the managers in the team supporting you, to see if they can resolve your concerns.
If they cannot address your feedback, visit our comments, compliments or complaints page for a range of options.
Adult social care survey
Every year, the council sends out the national Adult Social Care Survey to find out what people think of adult social care services, what we’re doing well and how we can improve. Every local authority in the country sends out this survey each year.
The most recent national survey shows that Adult Social Care supports 90 per cent of people in receipt of services in Tower Hamlets to feel safe. This is higher than previous results for both national and other local authorities. Overall satisfaction with services is also higher than nearby councils.
What we do with your feedback
The Adult Social Care survey helps us to identify areas we can improve to ensure we’re providing the highest-quality service to our residents.
80 per cent of people aged 18-64 in receipt of care and support felt that they had control over their daily life, but we will continue to look for ways in which equipment and technology can promote independence.
47 per cent of people who draw on care and support reported feeling lonely. We will continue to work in partnership with the Just Say Hello campaign to look at ways in which we can support people in the community to access services available.
Unpaid carers said that they found it difficult to find the information which they needed to support the caring role. We have worked with a group of unpaid carers to develop carer specific content on the Tower Hamlets Connect information portal. We have also renewed our subscription to Carers UK’s digital platform, which allows unpaid carers access to a wide variety of digital resources including free factsheets.
Unpaid carers also felt that they were not always fully involved when the person they were caring for was in hospital. To address this, we have worked in partnership with Barts Health to increase the number of carers supporting patients in the Royal London Hospital and improve the experience of carers by providing additional support and recognition. A dedicated carers support worker at Royal London and Mile End hospitals has also been funded to improve the identification, recognition and support of carers. Following the success of this initiative, plans are in place to employ dedicated workers in each of the major hospital sites across the NEL Integrated Care System area as part of the Accelerating Reform Fund for adult social care.
Adult Social Care Survey 2025
The next Adult Social Care Survey is due to go out at the start of 2025. More survey responses mean we can get a more accurate picture of how we’re doing, which helps us to create an action plan for how we deliver our services.
If you access adult social care services in Tower Hamlets, you will receive the survey in the post. Your opinions matter to us - please complete the survey and return it back to us so we can continue to improve.
