Boundary commission review
The Boundary Commission for England published and consulted on their initial proposals for new constituency boundaries and received nearly 20,000 responses to that consultation. The next stage of the 2018 Review is for them to publish all those representations so that others may comment on them. The Boundary Commission would like to encourage you to take time to see what others have said about their initial proposals by visiting: Boundary commission website and adding your views. The final date for comments is Monday, 27 March, 2017.
Following the secondary consultation, the Boundary Commission will be considering all representations received from both consultations, and will consider whether any revisions are needed. If they decide to revise the proposals, they will consult on the revised boundaries. It is expected that any such consultation will happen towards the end of 2017 or in early 2018. Thank you for your continued interest in and assistance with the 2018 Parliamentary Boundary review.
September 2016
The Boundary Commission for England is currently consulting on its initial proposals for a 12-week period, from 13 September to 5 December 2016.
The Boundary Commission encourages everyone to use this opportunity to help it shape the new constituencies – the more views it hears, the more informed its decisions will be when considering whether to revise its proposals.
The Boundary Commission website has more information about how to respond, as well as details of where and when public hearings will be held in our area. You can also follow the Boundary Commission on Twitter @BCE2018 or using #2018boundaryreview
As part of the consultation, the Boundary Commission is legally required to place the consultation documents on deposit for public display. The consultation documents can be viewed at the Electoral Services Office, Town Hall, Mulberry Place, 5 Clove Crescent, London, E14 2BG by calling 020 7364 5000.
