A Season of Bangla Drama 2025 - Submissions now open

Be part of A Season of Bangla Drama 2025

This acclaimed theatre festival will return in November 2025. We are seeking new writing.

Submissions are now open and close at 10am on Wednesday 26 March.

We encourage Expressions of Interest from individuals as well as organisations. We welcome submissions from the wider community (not only Bengali).

Submissions can be from anywhere in the UK. Content should be relevant to an East London audience, in particular those with connections to Bangladesh. Writing must be new. The festival provides the perfect platform for debut performances.

Participation in the festival can help groups develop their skills in theatre production. It is a showcase for established and emerging audiences from all communities.

We are not accepting Expressions of Interest from overseas companies.

To submit to the theatre programme, please complete the Expression of Interest form.

Quote from participant in A Season of Bangla Drama 2024

“It was a great achievement seeing the stories of the writers come to life in such extra new ways throughout the festival. The journey from conception to performance was exciting, at times challenging, but very worthwhile.”

Fringe Programme

We are also seeking submissions to our fringe programme. The popular programme is community focused. Talks, walks and workshops allow participants to come together, be kind, and unwind!

To submit to the fringe programme please complete the Expression of Interest form.

2025 Festival Theme

The theme for this year is ‘Kindness’. Kindness is thoughtful, empathetic and considerate interaction. Kindness is a universal human virtue, whether enacted on a small, personal level, or embedded into the culture of a larger group, community, workplace, or nation. It cuts across social strata, creed, identity and politics.

Scheduling will decided by the festival producer.

A Season of Bangla Drama 2025 will take place from 1 to 30 November 2025
