Changes to sexual health services
In October 2016 we implemented interim changes to our local sexual and reproductive health services to provide better access, extended opening hours and a better patient experience.
A new integrated service at Whitechapel now offers extended opening hours across six days of the week in newly refurbished premises, with excellent transport links, delivered by skilled, experienced staff. Re-commissioning of sexual health services
The London Boroughs of Newham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets will be re-commissioning sexual health services during 2017 to ensure services offer best value and meet local needs. A public consultation was undertaken in 2016 and using this information the London Borough of Tower Hamlets developed a full equality impact assessment of our local commissioning plan.
The re-commissioning process will start in early 2017 and no change in local services is expected until the autumn of 2017. Any changes to services that result from the re-commissioning will be carefully planned to minimise disruption to residents and ensure continuity of care.
