Child Safeguarding Practice Review
Serious incidents and Rapid Reviews
'Serious Incidents' are cases in which:
- abuse or neglect of a child is known or suspected
- the child has died or been seriously harmed.
The THSCP has a legal duty to notify the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel if this threshold is met.
The THSCP have 15 days from notification to run a ‘Rapid Review’ to determine any immediate recommendations and learning for partners.
The panel also reviews next steps, including whether to undertake a Child Safeguarding Practice Review.
