VCS strategy consultation
What is the Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy and why is it important to the council?
We believe that the council can better improve the lives of residents when we work in partnership with the voluntary and community sector (VCS).
In 2020, we worked with the VCS and partners to develop and deliver the VCS Strategy 2020-2024, which set out our plan for work with the VCS.
Why are we developing a new strategy?
The current strategy ends this year, so we are developing a new strategy to guide our work with the VCS.
We are working with the VCS, the community and partners to agree on a vision and objectives for our work with the VCS and a plan for how we will achieve it. We are also making a plan for how we will achieve it.
During April and May, we consulted with 99 stakeholders to help develop a draft vision and objectives for the strategy.
How can I get involved?
From July to September we want to hear from the VCS, the community and partners on what they think about the draft vision and objectives and ideas of actions we can take to support the VCS.
Complete the survey
Our survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. To fill in the survey, visit our engagement portal, Let’s Talk Tower Hamlets.
Partner Workshops
We are organising four workshops for the VCS, community and partners. Two will be online and the other two in-person. If you want to attend, sign up using the following links.
We are also organising workshops with elected members and council officers.
Analysing your feedback
After the engagement process, we will go through the information collected from the survey and workshops to identify what people have said.
We will then combine this with the research we have been doing on good practice from other organisations and use it to write a draft strategy.
Following the development of the draft strategy, we will contact you to share the draft strategy and get your feedback.
