Business rates online direct debit instruction

Business rates direct debit instructions can now be set up online.

All the normal direct debit safeguards and guarantees apply. No changes in the amount, date or frequency to be debited can be made without notifying you at least 10 working days in advance of your bank account being debited.

In the event of any error you are entitled to an immediate refund from your bank or building society. You have the right to cancel a direct debit instruction at any time simply by writing to your bank or building society. Please supply us with a copy.

You must be the bank/building society account holder to set up a direct debit instruction 

Please be aware that banks and building societies may not accept Direct Debit instructions from some types of accounts.

In order to set up your direct debit instruction online you will need to provide your:

• Bank/building society account holder name
• Bank/building society account number and sort code
• 8 digit business rates reference number
