I've turned up to the park and it's closed. What do I do?

Answer:: For your health, and the health of others, safe operation of the park is subject to having the right number of staff available. Due to circumstances beyond our control, opening the park may not always be possible and we may need to close the west side of the park, or the entire park, at short notice.

Can I take a rest on a bench while I'm at the park?

Answer:: Yes. Alone or with members of your household.

What are the new measures?

Answer:

Victoria Park will be regularly patrolled by our parks team, Tower Hamlets enforcement officers (THEOs) and the police.

New control measures are outlined above.

What will happen if visitors do not comply with the new safety measures or government social distancing guidelines?

Answer:: We want to keep the park open. Visitors must comply, otherwise they risk being fined and will be responsible for the park closing again.

The government says parks must stay open

Answer:: Local authorities manage their parks, not the government. We would like our parks to stay open too, but they must be open and operated safely – we will never compromise on this, and it clearly remains our priority too, for as long as coronavirus is a public health threat.

Can I cycle in the park?

Answer:: Considerate cycling is allowed – do not travel too fast or too close to others. Always maintain social distance and use the widest paths, avoiding narrow paths, where possible.

Are your cricket nets open?

Answer:: Our cricket nets will be open again from Tuesday 19 May. You may use them with people from your household or with one other person only who is not from your household, whilst maintaining social distance.

Why do you recommend keeping my dog(s) on a lead?

Answer:: We recommend dogs are kept on a lead to support effective social distancing.

How do I cancel my ceremony?

Answer:: You will be given a full refund if we have to cancel your ceremony due to the current restrictions. If we do not cancel a ceremony and offer to reschedule it to another date and this is refused, we will not issue a refund in line with our terms and conditions.

I can't find my address when registering for an account

Answer:

When registering for a parking account, please use the ‘lookup’ button to select your post code. You will then be able to choose your address from a list of addresses at that post code.

If you cannot find your address, please contact us and we will investigate.
