Gas safety
If you have a gas supply, your landlord must give you a valid gas safety certificate when you move in. Every 12 months, a certified Gas Safe engineer must check your appliances.

Carbon Monoxide can kill
You can't see it, taste it or smell it but carbon monoxide (CO) can kill quickly without warning. Seven people each year die from CO poisoning caused by gas appliances and flues that have not been properly installed, maintained or that are poorly ventilated.

Your landlord must arrange for an annual gas safety check to be carried out every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer. They must keep a record of the safety check for 2 years and issue a copy to each existing tenant within 28 days of the check being completed and issue a copy to any new tenants before they move in.
Your landlord must arrange maintenance by a Gas Safe registered engineer for all pipe work, appliances and flues, which they own and have provided for your use.
