“Running the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections involves an incredible amount of hard work by colleagues across Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Newham and Tower Hamlets councils, working closely with the Greater London Authority, the Metropolitan Police and many others. I would like to thank everyone who has been involved and worked so diligently from the early planning stages, through to polling day and the count today.
“Like the rest of London, residents in Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Newham and Tower Hamlets also voted in the 2 May polls to elect the Mayor of London and London-wide assembly members, the results of which will be announced at City Hall by the Greater London Returning Officer.”
