Public notice | Charity Commission

Assets held at CCLA to be transferred to UKCF

There are several dormant charity accounts where the Charities Commission has been unable to use the funds for charitable purposes. The Commission will soon tell the public that they will take legal steps and transfer these funds to the UK Community Foundation (UKCF).

This will allow the funds to be used for charity in line with the original goals of those charities. Tower Hamlets Council has been the steward of these funds but is not a Trustee and cannot direct how these funds may be applied.

The Charity Commission is now giving public notice of its plan. It is to invite representations that must be made within 28 days of this notice.
