Social work is a demanding profession. That’s why it’s so important that there’s good support in place to balance the challenges.

In Tower Hamlets, you’ll get to work on a diverse range of cases with children and families facing different situations, including neglect, domestic abuse, poverty and child sexual exploitation. All of which are strategic areas for development for our service.

You’ll be supported to do this through access to training, collaborating with advanced practitioners and specialist services such as our exploitation team, and with regular reflective supervision from your experienced line manager.

Because you’ll be part of a close-knit team

Tower Hamlets promotes the strengthening of team relationships and team cohesion through a number of activities. These include regular team meetings, monthly restorative group supervision sessions and Learning Circles as well as extra-curricular activities like mindfulness sessions and yoga.

Most teams in Tower Hamlets have around eight social workers. This small size allows for good quality relationships to be formed.
