School streets permit terms and conditions
General Terms and Conditions
1.1 This exemption applies to residents, parent/carer with a special educational needs child who attends the school, school staff and businesses who live and work on a school street, and blue badge holders living in the borough.
1.2 A blue badge holder will only be allowed a permit for one school street.
1.3 You must provide the exemption documents to qualify for a permit.
1.4 Your documents must show your full name, address and vehicle registration number.
1.5 Your vehicle must not exceed 2.3m (7’ 6”) in height or 5.25m (17’ 3”) in length.
1.6 The permit is issued free of charge.
1.7 You must contact us immediately if any of your details change, or you no longer require an exemption, by filling out the school streets form on the council’s website.
1.8 Your permit may be cancelled without prior notice if you breach any of the terms and conditions.
1.9 We reserve the right to request at any time any exemption documents to check that you continue to meet the exemption requirements.
1.10 We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions by giving you 28 days’ notice.
Please do not use the school street during operational hours until you have received confirmation that your application has been approved.
Resident exemption documents
2.1 UK registration Certificate or Insurance Certificate and Policy.
Parent/Carer exemption documents
3.1 School letter to confirm that the child has special educational needs and attends the school, and your insurance certificate to show that you are insured for business use.
School staff exemption documents
4.1 School letter to confirm that you are an employee, and your insurance certificate to show that you are insured for commuting.
Local business exemption documents
5.1 Company letter to confirm that you are an employee, and your insurance certificate to show that you are insured for business use.
Blue badge holder exemption documents
6.1 Blue badge, and UK registration Certificate or Insurance Certificate and Policy.
Blue badge holder exemption documents (blue badge holder does not drive)
7.1 Blue badge, and
7.2 Department for Work and Pension benefit letter for the current tax year, and
7.3 Another occupant’s UK registration Certificate or Insurance Certificate and Policy showing your address.
