Bethnal Green Gardens
Bethnal Green Gardens is in the heart of Bethnal Green, next to the underground station.
In December 2017, the Stairway to Heaven memorial was unveiled to mark the worst civilian disaster of World War II. On 3 March 1943, an air-raid warning sounded and locals raced for cover at Bethnal Green tube station. Confusion and panic led to hundreds on the staircase entrance. In the crush that ensued, 173 were killed including 62 children.
The park has a range of facilities such as:

- Tennis court bookings

Improvements to sports courts
Work has taken place to improve the sports courts . Improvements include:
- creation of an additional centre basketball court
- creation of a netball Court
- drainage works to prevent courts flooding
- low level fencing system around the basketball courts to improve the playing experience
- colour spraying of all courts
Tennis court refurbishment:
- lighting upgrades
- resurfacing
- new nets
- new posts
- improvements to drainage
